Veneers

Rejuvenate Your Smile With Dental Veneers in San Antonio, TX!

Over time, your smile is subject to some harsh forces: acidic foods like coffee and tea, trauma from sports or accidents, and just the general wear and tear of life. Years of use can leave you with a smile you’re not completely happy with, and that can damage your confidence! Couple the wear of aging with alignment or gaps you never loved to begin with, and you might get downright angry at your teeth!

Maybe you’ve considered braces, whitening, or having your teeth reshaped by filing and drilling away healthy parts of your teeth. Or maybe you just want to get a crown put in to cover a tooth you hate. Those options are extreme and can be incredibly costly! Why settle for care you may not be happy with or can’t afford when there’s a superior solution available? Our San Antonio, TX dentist here at Advanced Dental Associates will introduce you to dental veneers.

IPS E.max Veneers

Dr. Long on veneers

What are dental veneers? Veneers are wafer thin porcelain covers for the fronts of your teeth. They are custom built for each of your teeth and are permanently attached. Dental veneers are an amazing way to fix chips and surface damage, reshape teeth, close gaps, whiten, and eliminate stains. Not only that, but they don’t require much removal of healthy tooth material, making them a conservative treatment that produces incredible results!

Not all veneers, however, are created equal. As dental technology has changed, there has been a surge in processes and materials created for use as dental veneers, and some products are simply superior to others. At our San Antonio, TX dentist office, we’re proud to offer one of the most lifelike veneers on the market: IPS e.max.

IPS e.max veneers are manufactured from lithium disilicate glass ceramic, one of the most advanced dental materials available. Specially formulated by the manufacturer to give the most lifelike look on the market, IPS e.max veneers will amaze you! The lithium disilicate material also has a higher flexibility margin than many traditional ceramics, meaning that it will distribute forces more evenly. This makes it resistant to damage that would turn other veneers into garbage!

The Process of Getting Veneers

If you want to take the leap towards a great new smile with IPS e.max veneers, the process will begin with an examination of your oral health. You’ll need to have healthy teeth to be a good candidate for veneers!

Once you health has been determined, we’ll remove an ultra-thin layer of enamel from your teeth. This allows your veneers to better adhere to your teeth and blend invisibly with their neighbors. IPS e.max’s advanced materials mean that the depth of removal will be minimal. The pressurized molding of the lithium disilicate means that they are far stronger than conventional ceramic!

With your teeth prepared, we’ll take an impression of your mouth. This will be used by the dental lab to construct your veneers, which is usually done within a couple of weeks. Once we receive your completed veneers, we’ll have you back in, and they’ll be attached!

Minimal Prep Veneers

We can also offer veneers with minimal preparation required to place them! Traditional veneers require the removal of your natural enamel, which means that you can never go back to your natural teeth! Minimal prep veneers do not involve the removal of your enamel, and your veneers can be removed at any time with no damage to your teeth!

Minimal prep veneers are a great option if you want a reversible cosmetic procedure. Once removed, there is no lasting effect on your teeth, and you are left with a natural, healthy smile! Minimal prep veneers are just as strong as traditional veneers, so you won’t be sacrificing quality for a less permanent option.

Porcelain Veneers

For patients who would prefer traditional porcelain veneers, our San Antonio, TX dentist gladly offers those as well. The preparation, wait time, and application process are the same, and porcelain veneers can be a much more affordable option than IPS e.max. Our porcelain veneers also look incredibly lifelike – we don’t sacrifice quality when it comes to using different materials!

Cosmetic dental veneers don’t require any healing time and set very quickly. By the time you leave our office, you’ll be ready to enjoy your great new smile!
