If you are new to our city, you may be looking for a new dentist. If so, we welcome and encourage you to learn more about our practice, Advanced Dental Associates.
Our dental professionals have decades of experience in general dentistry. This is why we can offer so many different services for our patients in one convenient location.
Below, we will discuss our approach to dental care. We think you will find that, much like San Antonio, TX, we have a lot to office individuals and families.
Your First Dental Cleaning With Us
If you are new to San Antonio or just new to our practice, we provide a thorough examination are part of your first visit with us.
We want to understand to the best of our ability the overall health of your mouth. In additional to your dental cleaning, we will:
▸ take x-rays
▸ examine your head and neck
▸ check for signs of TMJ problems
▸ and perform an oral cancer screening
By doing all these things, we have a baseline for your oral health. If we notice any problems, we can advise you of your options so you can make the best decision for you. Going forward, this will help us identify changes during future visits.

Better Dentistry Through Technology
We live in the 21st century, and technology has changed many aspects of our lives. At Advanced Dental Associates, we are using technology to improve both the care we provide for our patients and our patients’ experiences at our office.
Two examples of this are our digital x-rays and our intraoral cameras.
Like old film x-ray machines, our digital x-rays help us see things that we can’t see with our eyes. The difference is that our digital x-ray machine provides an even clearer picture and use a fraction of the radiation of those old machines. That makes our digital x-rays more effective for identifying problems and safer for everyone involved.
Intraoral cameras help in a different way. These cameras allow our dental professionals to have a magnified view of the inside of your mouth. This can help us find tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral health issues at the earliest stages. This improves the treatment you receive.
And since we have computers in our rooms, we can show you those images as well. We have observed that patients have a better understanding when they can see what we are discussing.
This can help you become more knowledgeable about your dental care, which is good for your long-term oral health.
The last example of how we use technology is for your convenience. In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to forget things (like your dental visits). To help, we offer appointment confirmations by email and text message for our patients in and around San Antonio.
Dental Care Should Be Comfortable
You may have visited a dentist office that seemed cold and sterile previously. We want to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for our patients.
This starts with our staff, who we think you will find friendly and supportive. We also know that things that may seem small can make a big difference in your overall experience.
That’s why we offer water for our patients. It’s also why we are happy to provide pillows and blankets to help you feel cozy while you receive your dental care. (If you would like one or both, just let us know.)
We also offer the option of longer appointments. For patients who experience dental anxiety, this can make a dental care easier to handle. With a longer appointment, you know that you can take a break at any time.
If you or someone in your family has strong dental anxiety, then we also offer sedation dentistry. You have a choice of nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation at our San Antonio, TX, dentist office.
This way you can rest assured that you will remain relaxed and pain-free throughout your dental cleaning or other procedure. In many cases, you may not remember the treatment, but you will still enjoy all the oral health benefits.
