Three Kinds Of Veneers
We offer IPS e.max veneers, porcelain veneers, and minimal prep veneers at our practice. We’ll give you a short overview of the differences below. We also would be happy to answer any more questions you may have when you visit us for a consultation.
⬥ E.max veneers
These are made of lithium disilicate, which is a kind of ceramic made from glass. This material offers a great combination of durability and toughness while maintaining a natural appearance. This is considered by many to be the top of the line for cosmetic dental materials.
⬥ Porcelain veneers
Ceramics have gotten better and better since they were first used for restorative and cosmetic dental care. Porcelain has remained a valuable option because of how natural it looks.
Plus porcelain has the added advantage of being more stain-resistant that teeth, so it can help you keep your new, white smile longer.
⬥ Minimal prep veneers
With most veneers, we will need to remove a small layer of enamel from your teeth before they can be bonded in place. With minimal prep veneers, we often don’t need to remove any enamel. These are much thinner than other kinds of veneers.
Because of this, minimal prep veneers also can be taken off later if you should decide that you want to remove them.
Why You Might Want Veneers
As we’ve said many times, veneers are incredibly versatile. While they are primarily considered a cosmetic service, they can also be used for restorative dentistry as well. Regardless of why you are interested in veneers, you can count on our team at Advanced Dental Associates to give you a natural-looking smile.
As we mentioned earlier, veneers are bonded to the front of your teeth. You can get a single veneer to fix an issue with one tooth. You can get a full set of veneers to completely transform your smile. Or you can get any number of veneers in between.
With veneers, you can do all of these things:
▸ Close gaps between teeth
▸ Make crooked teeth look straight
▸ Make discolored teeth look white and bright
▸ Hide crowded teeth
▸ Repair chipped or broken teeth
▸ Build up misshapen or worn-down teeth
Getting veneers requires a few visits to our office, but they can improve your smile in a matter of just a few weeks.
Once you decide to get them, we can schedule an appointment to make an impression of your teeth. (For e.max or porcelain veneers, we would remove the enamel first since this impression will be used to create veneers that are custom-fitted for you.)
When your veneers are ready, we will bond them to your teeth. Once they set, you will be ready to go. Your veneers can be used to eat, just like real teeth from the day they are added to your smile.
