Dr. Lauren Malitz
Really my reason for getting into dentistry is my dad is a dentist and so I was exposed to it at a very young age. I worked in his office starting from the time I was in middle school and didn’t think that’s what I wanted to do and after I went to school for a couple of years, I realized that I had a real passion for wanting to help people. I always thought I wanted to go more into the medical field and after a couple of years of school decided that I really wanted to redirect and go into the dental field. So I started working more at his office and shadowed a few other types of dental specialist; a pediatric dentist, an orthodontist, to try to figure out where I wanted to go and that’s when I decided I really liked just being a general dentist and being able to work in all different aspects of dentistry; being kind of the quarterback of the football team if you will.
Dr. Lauren B. Malitz has been working with Advanced Medical Associates since 2009. She is a proud graduate of Texas A & M University and the University Texas Dental Branch at Houston. Born and raised in Houston she moved to San Antonio with her family.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Malitz was able to practice with her father and mentor, Dr. Jerry Bautsch, in Kingwood, Texas. It was from him that she gained her valuable knowledge about the field of dentistry and the importance of treating patients with compassion and respect.
Dr. Malitz is also extremely involved in the San Antonio community. She volunteers her time with the Junior League of San Antonio and sits on the board of St. Luke’s Lutheran Health ministries. A few times a month, she works with San Antonio Metro Health’s dental division examining children in the head start program and the Miles of Smiles Sealant program.
She holds memberships with the ADA, TDA, San Antonio District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
When not in the office treating patients, Dr. Malitz is busy with her husband, Ryan, and two daughters, Olivia and Elise. She enjoys waterskiing, running, and going to the beach.
