Whether for a special event or just as a way to treat yourself, fake nails can transform the look of your hands and even your entire aesthetic. With fake nails, you may feel more confident, and put-together. Dental veneers for your teeth can have the same effect, except for your smile instead of your hands.
Whether you have minor imperfections you want to conceal or major flaws in your teeth that you’re tired of hiding, dental veneers just may be the right solution for you.
What Are Dental Veneers?
Like fake nails placed on the surface of your natural nails, dental veneers are put on the surface of your natural teeth. At Advanced Dental Associates in San Antonio, TX we offer one of the most natural-looking veneers available: EPS e.max.
EPS e.max veneers are made from lithium disilicate glass ceramic. This material is one of the most advanced, and best, dental materials available and is specially made to give you the most realistic-looking veneers.
Additionally, because lithium disilicate material is more flexible than a lot of traditional ceramics, allowing it to distribute forces more evenly. What does that mean for you? Your IPS e.max veneers are more resistant to damage than traditional ceramic veneers.
Dental Veneers: The Process
When you come to our office, we will first take a look at your teeth and overall oral health. Your teeth need to be healthy for you to be a candidate for dental veneers.
If you are a good candidate for veneers, we will start by gently removing a thin layer of enamel from the surface of your teeth to help the veneers adhere properly. Because of IPS e.max’s advanced materials, the amount of enamel we’ll have to remove is minimal.
When your teeth have been prepared, we will take an impression of your mouth that the dental lab will use to make your veneers.
Your customized veneers will be ready within a couple of weeks. As soon as they’re ready, we will have you come back into the office to place them.
Minimal Prep Dental Veneers
At Advanced Dental Associates, we also offer veneers that require minimal preparation to place. Traditionally, we have to remove some of your natural enamel before placing veneers. However, minimal prep veneers don’t require the removal of enamel and can be removed at any time if you decide to go back to your natural teeth.
Minimal prep veneers are a good option if you prefer a reversible procedure. Don’t worry; you won’t be missing out on high-quality veneers. Minimal prep veneers are just as durable as traditional veneers.
We also offer porcelain veneers at our San Antonio, TX office. While the process is the same, porcelain veneers are a more affordable option than IPS e.max. However, just like IPS e.max, our porcelain veneers still look natural to give you a great looking smile!
Caring For Dental Veneers
We are confident that after your veneers are placed, you’ll leave Advanced Dental Associates with a gorgeous smile you can be proud to show off. Chances are, you’ll want to keep your new smile for as long as possible.
Dental veneers usually last between 7 and 15 years before needing to be replaced. While no special care is required for veneers, it’s important to maintain good daily habits to ensure your dental veneers last as long as possible.
Brush your teeth at least twice a day and floss daily. Be sure to talk with us about your eating and drinking habits, so we can advise you on whether you should cut back or give up certain foods and drinks that could potentially harm or stain your veneers.
